Zack Snyder would like to direct “007” with a young version of James Bond

Director Zack Snyder, best known for adapting famous franchises, such as “Justice League” and “Watchmen”, revealed that there is another great work that he would like to adapt, in his eyes, for the big screen.

In an interview with the website “The Atlantic”, the filmmaker said that it would be interesting to make a new version of James Bond in “007”, with a younger version of the character.

“It would be cool to see a 20-year-old James Bond,” said the director. “The humble roots where he comes from. Whatever youthful trauma makes you James Bond. There must be something interesting to explore there.”

A new film in the “007” franchise is being planned after Daniel Craig, protagonist of five productions in the universe, said goodbye to the iconic role of James Bond in “007 – No Time to Die”, released in 2021. Although Zack Snyder seems interested in exploring a younger James Bond, this is not an idea that interests the work's producers.

In an interview with the Radio Times earlier this year, casting director Debbie McWilliams explained that younger actors generally don't fit in as the famous James Bond.

“We look at a lot of younger actors and I just don't think they have the gravitas. They don’t have the experience, the mental capacity to take it on, it’s a huge responsibility,” she said.

Neither actor nor director have been announced for the next James Bond film as of yet. Zack Snyder, in turn, directs the newest feature released on Netflix, “Rebel Moon – Part 1: A Menina do Fogo”.
