Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yuri Chikhanchin said that the agency fully allows the use of cryptocurrencies for settlements with foreign suppliers, but such payments are prohibited in Russia.
During the “government hour” in the Federation Council, Chikhanchin emphasized that the use of digital assets for settlements and payments in Russia is prohibited by law. However, under certain conditions, such payments may well be used in the international market. In particular, this can help in the development of companies that export their products abroad.
“If the supply chain is controlled, then this is quite acceptable,” said the director of Rosfinmonitoring.
Thus, companies need to clearly understand with whom exactly they are exchanging digital currencies. Chikhanchin also stressed that the department has developed and has already launched an information system for tracking cryptocurrency transactions. It allows you to define both the sender and recipient of funds. The test results were positive and even “real criminal cases have been opened.”
Recently, State Duma deputies finally adopted a law banning payments for goods and services with digital financial assets and utilitarian digital rights in the Russian Federation.
