Young man held in private prison is rescued by police during operation in Minas Gerais

A 19-year-old man, who was being held in private prison and, according to police, tortured for at least three days, was rescued on Wednesday morning (17), during a police operation.

According to the agents who rescued him, the victim was very weak and showed signs of torture on his body and would be executed by the criminals this Wednesday.

The rescue took place during a joint operation by the Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) and Military Police (PMMG), which resulted in the execution of arrest and search and seizure warrants. The operation, called Estado Forte, was launched in Guanhães, in the eastern region of the state.

According to the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG), the investigations began after an attempted murder registered in March of this year, in the municipality of Guanhães, and a femicide, which occurred in Sabinópolis, last June.

During the investigation, the PCMG found evidence that the suspects had tortured a woman and shaved her hair.

According to the police, 14 people (12 men and two women) were taken to the Police Station in Guanhães. In addition, the police seized marijuana, crack, cocaine, four weapons, ammunition of various calibers, a card machine, four radios, 27 cell phones, a notebook, six precision scales, four hair clippers, cash and material used in the drug trade.
