A friend of the victim, who did not have a disclosed identity, told police that he and Patrick were in a car driving down the ABD corridor in the city center when a vehicle blocked the way.
The driver of this car seemed to argue with a woman. When honking to ask for a passage, the man left the armed vehicle and fired at their car.
The victim’s friend then accelerated to escape. However, Patrick was hit with a shot on his head.
The driver found a city guard car and requested help to reach a central Diadema emergency care, but the young man could not resist the injury and arrived at the health unit already death.
In a statement, the Public Security Bureau (SSP) reported that the case was registered as a homicide in the 3rd Diadema Police District and is being investigated by the Homicide and Personnel Protection Sector (SHPP). So far, no one has been arrested.
