At the Yac 2022 conference, Yandex presented a branded scooter – according to engineers, the novelty is designed specifically for Russian roads and their features. Thanks to this, the scooter turned out to be safe, durable and maneuverable.
The novelty has become the world’s first rental scooter made of magnesium alloy (usually used for the production of ultra-high strength products, including for aviation). It makes it more durable and lighter at the same time. The model was equipped with both front and rear shock absorbers, and the ground clearance was made large – all this will allow you to drive comfortably even on pavers or roads with pits.
Yandex paid special attention to security. Firstly, the platform is made wide, but short. Because of this, it will be more convenient to ride a scooter alone, but almost impossible together. Secondly, the steering wheel has become wider – the scooter turned out to be more stable, and the turning radius has significantly decreased.
The engineers also rethought the mounts: hooks for bags and backpacks appeared, and the holder for the smartphone improved (became more reliable).
The Yandex branded scooter will appear in Yandex Go with the start of the new season in the spring of 2023. The company has not announced anything about sales of new items.
