The new documentary by presenter Xuxa Meneghel arrives at Globoplay this Thursday (13), and addresses the main controversies in the artist’s life.

Directed by Pedro Bial, the episodes feature a conversation with former manager, Marlene Mattos, after 19 years, statements about former relationships with Pelé and Ayrton Senna and more.

Check below the 5 controversies of the presenter addressed in “Xuxa: O Documentário”

1- Relationship with Pelé

One of the main subjects of the documentary, the relationship between the King of football and the Queen of the short ones, which lasted six years and started when the presenter was only 17 years old and the player 41. About the relationship, the presenter reveals in the production that she carries some traumas through her life. way the athlete conducted the relationship.

In her recent participation in “Quem Pode, Pod”, the artist revealed that Pelé justified his betrayals with the argument that he had three different personalities, but that he thought of her when he had relations with other women.

“He said ‘Women are hitting on Pelé, but don’t worry because at the time Pelé was having sex I was thinking about you’. He spoke in the third person. He had three personalities: Dico [apelido]Edison [nome] and Pele [nome artístico]. He said he had to have other women,” said Xuxa.

In addition, she said that, unlike what she has heard from many people, they did not have an open relationship. Xuxa says she was too young to be able to impose herself.

“That’s why he invented that colorful friendship story, and I kept repeating it. I was in doubt if I thought I had to accept an unintentional betrayal. It was not an open relationship. I couldn’t do everything, and he could because it wasn’t him, it was Pelé. Remembering that it was my first relationship, so I didn’t know how to compare whether another was the healthiest, “he said.

2- Dating Ayrton Senna

Following the wave of romantic relationships, the documentary also addresses Xuxa’s relationship with pilot Ayrton Senna. Despite assuming that the player Pelé was the one who taught her a lot about sex, the presenter admitted that it was Ayrton who “turned her into a woman”.

“That’s when I discovered myself as a woman because Pelé left me with some traumas, and Beco [Ayrton] I tried to get rid of these traumas. When I was going to have sex with him, I would say some things, and he would say ‘who told you that this is right, who put that in your head? It’s all wrong, let’s start all over again,” she said.

In addition, Xuxa also said that he was not nice to Senna, for not appreciating the love he said he felt while they could.

“I was mean to him. I was in love with him and I didn’t give a shit, I didn’t even tell him I was in love with him, nor did I value what he did. I think I didn’t appreciate what he had to give me. He offered me a lot, he said he was in love with me, and I didn’t care, I didn’t appreciate that, “she said.

Xuxa and Ayrton dated for two years after the end of their relationship with Pelé, and the Queen of the short ones declared that she still has a lot of affection for the pilot’s family.

3- Sexual abuse from 3 to 13 years old

Another sensitive subject addressed in the new audiovisual project is the sexual abuse suffered by Xuxa from 3 to 13 years old. In the documentary, the presenter returns to her hometown, Santa Rosa, in Rio Grande do Sul, alongside her daughter, Sasha Meneghel, and reflects on the subject.

“When I propose to campaign against the exploitation of children and adolescents, I don’t just wear the shirt, I feel it on my skin, it’s tattooed on me, this pain is embedded in me. These things made me stronger to be who I am today, more the bad things than the good ones”, she said at a press conference for the release of the documentary.

In addition, the artist declared that it is very difficult to relive these situations, but that she thinks it is important to talk about them so that other people can identify with her.

“These situations made me who I am, but reliving it is very painful, see? I would like not only to close [esses assuntos] in a box, but put it at the bottom of the trunk, at the bottom of the sea and forget about it. But it’s important to talk because I show people who have also lived, live or are going through similar situations, that they are not alone. This is important,” she says.

4- Marlene Mattos

Xuxa’s reunion with her former manager, Marlene Mattos, took place after 19 years without contact, in one of the episodes of the Globoplay production.

The businesswoman and the artist broke ties in 2002, after 22 years of work together and, years later, Xuxa declared that the reason was because she felt controlled, used and “made of a puppet” by Marlene.

In released images of the project, it is possible to see a statement by Mattos on the subject. “I hit a lot more than I missed, you know? The world is not what you want it to be. We have to act realistically sometimes, you know? You say… you were a puppet in my hand, and I used you to make puppets of other people. And that’s how it is,” she said.

Xuxa appears in the production commenting on Marlene’s speech and says she felt disappointed by the former businesswoman’s posture.

“I have changed a lot and I wanted to see and hear these changes [na Marlene]. It was a little disappointing when I didn’t feel it,” she declared.

5- “Love Strange Love”

Completing the controversial subjects that will be shown in the production, is a discussion about the film “Amor Estranho Amor”, a feature film that caused controversy at the time after Xuxa appeared naked next to a 12-year-old boy. Marcelo Ribeiro, the boy in question, was face to face with the artist during the recordings and they remembered the time.

“Actually, it wasn’t just fake news. She had a hint of ‘if I don’t speak ill of her, there won’t be room’. With a refinement of cruelty because it would mess with me. To this day, people want to talk about this movie, but I made it when I was 17”, said Sasha’s mother.

In addition, Xuxa also recalled the criticism he received at the time, and spoke about the film’s history.

“’Xuxa is a pedophile because she made the film’. People don’t want to know it’s fiction, they don’t look at the story about child exploitation. People want to see that as the truth, they don’t see the story of the film, which is a girl who was sold to a brothel, to be given to a politician. That is, the sexual exploitation against children, against adolescents that still exists today”, declared Xuxa.
