The city of Porto Alegre asked, around 2pm this Wednesday (8), for volunteers who are carrying out rescues with boats to temporarily suspend operations. The rain fell again in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul.
The municipality expects 15mm of rain in the next few hours, with wind gusts that could exceed 80 km/h. There is a possibility of lightning strikes throughout the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre.
Current weather conditions pose a risk to volunteers.
In an interview with CNN this morning, the PRF-RS Social Communication representative, Douglas Paveck Bonfim, reported that thousands of people are still at risk due to the floods.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), many clouds and rain showers are forecast in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul this afternoon. Isolated rain may occur at night. Tomorrow (9), more rain is expected to fall throughout the day. On Thursday, the temperature in the city should not exceed 21°C.

The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul reported, in a report released early this Wednesday afternoon (8), that the number of people killed as a result of the rains that have been punishing the state since the beginning of last week has reached 100. There are still 372 injured and 128 missing.
