A 7-year-old child died on Thursday (17) after eating an Easter egg. Along with the food, there was a note written “with love, to Mirian Lira. Happy Easter.”
According to the Maranhão Civil Police, the cause of death is still investigated, but there is suspected poisoning. The case occurred in Imperatriz (MA), 630 km from São Luís.

Suspect
A 36-year-old woman, who is ex-girlfriend of the current companion of one of the victims, was arrested. She was captured by the team of the Santa Inês Regional Police Station on a long -distance bus.
An inquiry was established by the Empress Homicide Police Station, which hears witnesses to clarify the case.
The victim’s body underwent necropsy examination at the Imperatriz Legal Medical Institute. The Civil Police are awaiting the expert report to confirm the cause of death.
