Sold on average at R$ 6.63 at gas stations across the country, diesel oil is 50 days out of date, according to the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers. With that, market representatives, importers, distributors and shareholders told the CNN who expect a new high in fuel at any moment.
The last adjustment by Petrobras took effect on March 11, but a week later, the fuel value was already out of step with the international market. At the time, the increase was 25%. Even so, the price abroad continued to rise. Now, the fuel sold by Petrobras is 21% behind the amount charged abroad, a difference of R$ 1.27.
In a conference last Friday (5), the president of Petrobras, José Mauro Coelho said that the diesel market is impacted.
“It is also clear that Petrobras, it is not insensitive to Brazilian society, especially in atypical moments like the one we are experiencing, where the conflict in Eastern Europe ends up having a great impact on the energy markets, especially, at this moment, the energy market. diesel,” said Coelho.
“And Petrobras, concerned about this, followed the market price, but did not immediately pass on this momentary volatility. But of course, at a certain point, readjustments must be made, so that we maintain the financial health of our company”, said Coelho.
Although the average lag is 21%, in the ports of Itaqui (MA), Suape (PE), Santos (SP) and Araucária (PR), this rate has already reached 25%, according to the association. In some places, the price of diesel in Brazil is already R$ 1.51 lower.
Diesel oil is currently sold to distributors for R$ 4.51 per litre. Before arriving at the gas station, it is mixed with one part of biodiesel for every nine parts of diesel.
At the pump, the price ends up getting more expensive. Even without an increase by the oil company, he has already been rising in the ranks, as a result of the generalized inflation in the country. The average selling price, according to the weekly survey by the National Petroleum Agency, is R$ 6.63, but in Porto Seguro, Bahia, the ANP has already found the fuel sold at R$ 8.387 a liter.
