Microsoft often introduces features into Windows that, for one reason or another, remain hidden from ordinary users. One recent example is the “secret” themes from Windows 11 SE, a special version of the system optimized for students. They appeared in Windows 11 2022 Update and include three versions available in light and dark versions.
A Reddit user with the nickname Foxerbit has collected all the ways to activate such topics, there are only two of them. The easiest is to download the themes as a separate archive and install (double-click with the left mouse button). The other is more complicated and involves editing the registry, but eliminates any risks associated with downloading files from the Internet:
- Open the Run menu by pressing Win+R.
- Enter regedit and click OK.
- Go to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device - Right-click on the device folder and select New ➝ Key.
- Give the generated key a name Education.
- Right-click on the generated key and select New ➝ DWORD (32-bit).
- Give the created file a name EnableEduThemes.
- Double left click on it and install one (one) as the value.
- Restart your computer.
