The latest edition of Big Brother Brasil, the BBB23 came to an end with Amanda Meirelles as the winner. The doctor won 68.9% of the votes in the grand final and took home the biggest prize in the program’s history: R$2.88 million.
The participant from the group ‘Pipoca’ competed for public favoritism in the final alongside two allies from ‘Camarote’, Aline Wirley and Bruna Griphao, who had 16.96% and 14.14% of the votes, respectively.
With her victory at BBB23, Amanda not only won the title of champion, but also gained a legion of followers on social media. Today, the former BBB has more than 2.9 million followers on Instagram.
Now, she envisions new horizons by investing in her career as a communicator, with the aim of facilitating access to information about the health sector. In an interview with CNN Amanda said that she wants to combine her experience as a doctor with the fruits of BBB, such as exposure and influence on social media.
On the occasion, the doctor also spoke about her victorious passage on Big Brother Brasil: “I knew it was a game, despite all the challenges, I was careful and responsible not to lose myself amidst all the adversities of the program. I played strategically, but I didn’t compromise on my values and principles,” she stated.
For the future brothers and sisters, who will enter the BBB24 house she left some advice: “Play strategically, because it is a game and worth money, but without leaving your nature and character aside, because this is also being evaluated.”
Trajectory at BBB23
Amanda’s trajectory in the reality show was marked by the identification of fans who saw her as a “real woman”, “people like us” and “clumsy”, according to viewers. “How do you achieve this? Admiration, sympathy, charisma, personality. You connected with people in a special way. You reached out to one person and thousands of people reached out to you”, said Tadeu Schmidt in his victory speech.

Throughout the almost one hundred days in the house, Amanda was part of the “deserts”, as the group of participants who faced four walls became known, and only won the leader’s last test, which was endurance and lasted 17 hours, which guaranteed the doctor in the final of the program.
Furthermore, his friendship with Antônio ‘Cara de Sapato’ won over many fans, who nicknamed themselves “docshoes” and guaranteed his stay in the house, even after the fighter’s expulsion for sexual harassment . Despite not evolving into a romance within the house, the two were literally connected from the beginning of the program, when they entered chained to each other, after the public’s choice in an initial dynamic proposed by BBB23.
Even though she received affection from most of the show’s viewers, not everyone approved of her sister’s victory. Amanda was also identified as a “plant” by the public, which generated a wave of criticism on social media from users dissatisfied with her achievement. In later statements, she said that she needed to learn how to deal with haters on the internet after the end of the reality show.
