After 78 days of confinement, the nursing assistant Mara Viana 52, won the 2006 edition of Big Brother Brazil . She was, in fact, the second woman to become champion of the reality show, behind Cida Santos, in 2004.

With 47% of the votes, the Bahian woman took home the prize of R$1 million, after facing the final alongside the model Mariana Felício – which took second place, earning R$50 thousand – and the teacher Rafael third placed who pocketed R$30 thousand .

The year 2006 marked the third consecutive edition of the program where two participants were chosen for confinement through a draw. The duo was formed by Augustine and Mara which later would win the millionaire competition .

On the reality show, the player captivated the public by portraying the image of a dedicated and very hard-working mother. Over the days, she faced two walls, gained a lead and made friends with almost all of her opponents, despite the group maintaining harmony most of the time.

With the victory, the champion paid for the treatment of her daughter, Aracy Vianna, who was born prematurely and was unable to move due to cerebral palsy. Today, at 23 years old, the young woman graduated in Law.

Meanwhile, Mara, in addition to investing in commercial buildings and a guesthouse, also dedicated time to studies and graduated in Theology.

At the same time, in 2024 the former BBB tried to embark on a political career, running for the position of vice-mayor of Porto Seguro, in Bahia, on Luigi Rotunno’s ticket, for the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party).
