This Sunday (12), marks two years since the death of Lisa Marie Presley the only daughter of Elvis Presley (1935–1977) and Priscilla Presley 79. She passed away at age 54, hours after being hospitalized following an apparent cardiac arrest.
A Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report later stated that the singer’s death was caused by a “sequel to a small bowel obstruction,” which could be “adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery years ago.”
Who was Lisa Marie Presley?
Lisa Marie was a singer and songwriter, born in Memphis, United States and raised in Graceland, a mansion that belonged to her father.
Throughout her career, she followed in the footsteps of her father, the King of Rock and released three studio albums: “To Whom It May Concern”, which received a gold record, “Now What” and “Storm & Grace”.
Before her death, she worked on a memoir, in which she revealed details of her childhood, her relationship with her parents and her marriages. There, she also provided details of her struggle with addiction and commented on her son’s death, Benjamin — that she kept the body at home for months.
In some excerpts, she gave details about her relationship with Elvis and the singer’s death in 1977. In her book, Lisa Marie revealed that she suffered abuse from the actor and model michael edwards one of his mother Priscilla Presley’s boyfriends, when he was just 10 years old. In the work, she recalls that Edward told her that “he would teach her what would happen when she got older”. Furthermore, he allegedly placed his hand between her legs and “kissed her gently” before leaving the room.
In addition to mentioning her marriage to the musician Danny Keough with whom she had her eldest children, Riley and Benjamin, she recalled other relationships, including with singer Michael Jackson (1958-2009), to whom she was married for just two years and her brief relationship with the actor Nicolas Cage 61.
Lisa’s last marriage, in turn, with the guitarist Michael Dean Lockwood was their longest-lasting relationship, which lasted 15 years and produced two fruits: twins Finley Aaron and Harper Vivienne Presley Lockwood.
