Despite Chico look like a completely different character in the remake of “Reborn” in the original version he was also present, played by Great Othello in a special appearance.
If today the character played by Mac Suara is married to Inácia (Edvana Carvalho) and both are parents of Ritinha (Mell Muzzillo), in 1993 only the last detail was the same.
Without so much screen time and without a wife, Chico and Ritinha — role Isabel Fillardis — they lived alone. Just like in the remake, the character died after the young woman's wedding ceremony with Damian at the time played by Jackson Antunes.
This was Grande Othello's last television work. Actor, comedian, musician and composer, he was one of the most important Brazilian artists.
Shortly after finishing his participation in the soap opera Benedito Ruy Barbosa Great Othello died at the age of 78 due to a massive heart attack , when he disembarked in France. On that occasion, the artist would be honored at the Three Continents Festival.
