Malena Galmarini, wife of the presidential candidate for Unión por la Patria, Sergio Massa, is president of the state company Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA) and, if her husband wins the presidential elections in the second round on November 19, she could assume a relevant role as First Lady of Argentina.
Galmarini graduated in Political Science. From an early age he joined the Justicialist Party (PJ), demonstrating his political commitment. In 1996, at age 21, he met Massa when he was 24. Together the two raised two children.
Galmarini’s political history seems to have started from birth, as she is the daughter of Marcela Durrieu and Fernando “Pato” Galmarini, who was part of the government of former president Carlos Menem.
This bond led Massa to build what he calls a “joint family, like Unión por la Patria”, drawing a parallel with the political coalition of which he is part.
Past and present politicians, as well as personalities from the world of entertainment, join the family gatherings. In part, this is because Galmarini’s father is in a relationship with renowned Argentine actress Moria Casan, with whom his family has a close bond.
