The police arrested, this Thursday (15), the second suspect in the death of actor Jeff Machado, in Rio de Janeiro, Bruno de Souza Rodrigues. On June 2nd, Jeander Vinícius da Silva had already been arrested, and since then the Whereabouts Discovery Police Station (DDPA) has been looking for Rodrigues. The two were people close to the dead actor.
Bruno Rodrigues is an artistic producer and was a friend of Machado. On Wednesday (14), an expert report was received confirming Bruno’s voice in a call made to the protector of animals, talking about the actor’s dogs. He was located by the police this Thursday in Morro do Vidigal, in the South Zone of the Rio de Janeiro capital.
According to the investigations, Rodrigues would have sublet the property where the body was found and moved around R$ 5,000 in Jeff Machado’s account after registering the disappearance at the police station.
Jeander Vinicius da Silva was also close to the victim and, in his statement, confessed to having hidden the actor’s body, but denied the murder.
According to the arrest warrant signed by the public prosecutor Sauvei Lai, from the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ), the crime would have been premeditated by Rodrigues with the help of Silva.
They allegedly took advantage of the moment they were having sex with Jeff Machado to strangle him, according to the request.
The two would aim to obtain economic advantages from the victim, such as the sale of the property and the car. Investigations continue and the police do not rule out that Jeff Machado was the victim of an ambush, after a false promise of employment at a TV station.

Jeff’s body was found on May 22 in a trunk, buried under two meters of concrete, in the backyard of a house in Rio de Janeiro. He had his arms tied above his head and had wounds on his neck.
Jeff Machado was 44 years old and had been missing since January 2023. At the time, he played a Philistine soldier in the soap opera Reis, shown since March 2022 on Record TV.
Whereabouts Discovery Police officers discovered in May that Jeff was dead, after successfully breaking the telephone secrecy of a suspect in the case.

According to Jeff’s defense, the Civil Police know that a friend kept the actor’s cards and moved about R$ 5 thousand after the disappearance.
When denouncing the disappearance of his friend, Bruno De Souza Rodrigues told the police that he had the keys to Jeff Machado’s car and house because the actor would do a job in São Paulo. He also appears as the sublessor of the property where the body was found.
