The action of a shooter who kept his own family under private prison in Novo Hamburgo (RS) has left, to date, three fatal victims – in addition to the suspect himself, who also died.
The incident in the municipality, which is in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, began around 11pm last Tuesday (22). Around 9 am this Wednesday (23), the shooter was found dead inside the house after an intense shootout with agents from the Military Brigade.
The shooter was identified as Edson Fernando Crippa, 45 years old. He was a truck driver.
In addition to the dead, six other victims are hospitalized.
Who were the shooter’s fatal victims?
Eugene Crippa
Eugênio Crippa was 74 years old and was the father of the shooter. He was married to Cleris Teresinha Crippa, Edson’s mother, who was also shot.
According to the Military Brigade, Cleris was shot in the chest, abdomen and hand. Her health condition is serious.
Everton Luciano Crippa
He was 49 years old. He was the shooter’s brother and son of the couple Eugênio and Cleris. He was taken to a city hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Everton Raniere Kirsch Junior
Kirsch Junior was 31 years old and was a soldier in the Rio Grande do Sul Military Brigade. He died after being hit during the shootout with the shooter.
The soldier had been with the corporation since 2018 and was assigned to the 3rd battalion of the Military Brigade, in Novo Hamburgo.
He was married and left a newborn son, just 45 days old. “He was, above all, a hero”, said governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB).
