Who are the characters in the remake of “Renascer”

On the 22nd, TV Globo premieres the remake of “Renascer”, a soap opera that narrates the saga of José Inocêncio (played by Humberto Carrão and Marcos Palmeira) and which made history in Brazilian dramaturgy when it was shown for the first time in 1993. .

The reinterpretation of the work is now written by Bruno Luperi, based on the original by his grandfather, Benedito Ruy Barbosa.

'Renascer' tells the story of José Inocêncio, an obstinate and fearless man, who arrives in the Ilhéus region, in Bahia, as an outsider and ends up becoming one of the largest cocoa producers. The plot also narrates the “pact” signed by the protagonist at the feet of a jequitibá king. “As long as my machete is stuck at your feet, neither you nor I will die… neither from a killed death… nor from a dead death!”, says Inocêncio.
