The linked Onlyfans account, updated on February 14, blocked images for non-subscribers but contained identifying information and captions alluding to adult content and “nudity.”

From white to black

Dolezal made headlines in 2015 when it was revealed that despite being a leader in the NAACP and claiming detailed heritage as a person of color, Dolezal's parents were both white with European ancestry. In the media storm that followed, Dolezal never denied her white heritage, but stated that she still “identifies as black.”

Dolezal’s enduring presence in the media has sparked “angry” conversations about identity and race. In an interview with CNN in 2017, she said she believes race is a “social construct.”

Despite widespread derision, Dolezal did not abandon her supposed identity after her true heritage was revealed. In 2016, he legally changed his name to Nkechi Amare Diallo. The name Nkechi is a shortened Igbo name of Nigerian origin and means “gift from God”.

At the time, she said she would also continue to use the name Rachel Dolezal, and appears to alternate between the two names on her various social media accounts. Her apparent OnlyFans account is named Rachel Dolezal.

Onlyfans and layoffs

Onlyfans is a social media platform where content creators post photos and videos and may charge users a fee to access them. It is generally known as a place to post explicit content.

Their growing popularity has led to numerous cases of being fired for being OnlyFans creators, including several teachers. Incidents like this have raised questions about employment discrimination, the stigma of sex work and the effects of the informal economy.

A 2017 profile of Dolezal in The Guardian stated that, at the time, Dolezal was “unemployed” and “feeding her family on food stamps,” although she only had opportunities in “reality television and pornography.”

However, Dolezal continued to appear in the public eye. In 2017, she published a memoir titled “In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black and White World.” She also promotes her art on social media and produces a podcast called “Periferias”.

The podcast description says the show's logo was created by Dolezal and depicts Josephine Beall Willson Bruce, a late 19th and early 20th century black women's rights activist and “a multicultural historical figure who was often seen as white”.
