On Tuesday afternoon (25), the White House intensified its rhetoric against The Atlantic article, pointing to a “false indignation” and calling it a “witch hunt”, according to the president’s director of communication and assistant.
Steven Cheung stated in two X posts that the “anti-trump” forces have consistently tried to “transform harmless actions into arms” and compared the media that covered history to “enemies of America.”
“The Atlantic article is nothing more than a part of the national security sector community repeating the same and tired game of years ago. From the farce of ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ in the first term to the case of fake documents in the last four years… At every moment, anti-Trump forces have tried to transform fake indignation, that fake news can be used to spread the enemies of the enemies. America escape these lies, ”said Cheung on X.
The Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg said he was invited to the chat by Trump’s National Security Counselor Mike Waltz.
In a second post on Tuesday, Cheung pointed out what he called the “false indignation of signal” and a “witch hunt.”
“The farce of ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ led to a witch hunt. The farce of the documents led to a witch hunt. The false indignation of the signal… a witch hunt,” he wrote.
