There are now a few hours left before theEurovision Song Contest 2022. The anticipated music festival is back in Italy more than thirty years after the last time (third overall) and will take place at Turinat the PalaOlimpico: first the two semifinals, 10 and 12 Maythen the grand final, Saturday 14. After Naples (in 1965) and Rome (in 1991), the show will then go on stage in the shadow of the Mole thanks to the surprising success of the Maneskin twelve months ago in Hollandwith the song Shut up and good.

To which they fly as well the best ten songs of each semifinal (17 artists take the stage on Tuesday, the other 18 – including Lauro – Thursday), for a total of 25 competitors who will try the assault on the prize in the final evening. But who votes? The judgment is entrusted to two separate entities which both weigh 50%: national juries – composed of five music professionals and differentiated in terms of gender, age and background – e televoting.
To prevent each country votes for itself – and therefore that the most populous state monopolizes the preferences – neither the public nor the jury can vote for the representative of your country (Lauro can be voted on by the Italians, but only in the final). In the semifinals they vote only the countries involved plus two / three Big Five, while in the final they vote all participants: in essence, each jury of experts chooses its own 10 favorite songsautomatically assigning a score to each one.
Question presenters and guests: to lead the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be Alessandro Cattelan, Laura Pausini And Mika. On May 10, in addition to the competing artists, they will perform Diodato, DurdustBenny Benassi and Sophie & The Giants, while the 12th space for the trio de The flight. In the final evening the spotlight is on Maneskinwho will bring their new single, and Gigliola Cinquetti, returning to the event 58 years after his triumph.
The whole festival will be broadcast by the Rai: it will be there for the whole week a daily appointment around 20.30 on Rai 1 with news and curiosities, then of course the three evenings live on Rai 1 starting at 21 (the live broadcast will also be broadcast by Rai Radio 2 come on RaiPlay). Also available streaming on YouTube (if available in your country) and also TikTok – official partner of the event – will resume the show adding new songs backstage content.
