Where do chefs eat? With Felipe Galharte from Seu Burger and Pizza Katzo, in SP

A lot of desire to make it happen and love for gastronomy made Felipe Galharte quit his steady job to sell hamburgers.

With the aim of having a food truck, he started by just assembling a plate in front of breweries in the interior of São Paulo, as he knew that the focus in these houses was more focused on artisanal drinks than on food.

It worked out. Soon, Galharde conquered the dreamed food truck, as well as different stops in São Carlos, Araraquara and Ribeirão Preto.

The first fixed point Your Burger opened in 2015 in São Carlos. Two years later, the second unit came, this time in Araraquara.

But the will to undertake continued and Felipe launched the Pizza Katzo! in the same order as the hamburgueria: it opened first in São Carlos (2019) and then in Araraquara (2020).

The success was so great that the houses merged: whoever sees them from the outside sees two facades, but the hall is interconnected, allowing customers to order pizza and hamburgers at the same table.

And, after conquering the interior of São Paulo, it was the capital’s turn to receive Pizza Katzo! and Seu Burger, both opened in July, in the neighborhood of Pine trees .

Even with so much work in the two houses, Felipe likes to enjoy the diverse cuisine that São Paulo offers and, whenever he has a little time, he goes out to discover new flavors. Check out the places that the chef most likes to visit in the city below:

Tan Tan Noodle Bar

One of the most popular restaurants in Pinheiros lives up to its daily queue. the chef’s restaurant Thiago Bañares It has a long and surprising drink menu that, in itself, is worth a visit.

But the options for eating manage to surpass each dish, especially if you are seated at the counter, where the experience becomes more special. It’s impossible to leave without eating the ebi bun – a steamed bun, accompanied by plated pink shrimp, Sriracha mayonnaise and red onion pickles, as well as the extraordinary noodles and chocolate pie.

Tan Tan: Rua Fradique Coutinho, 153, Pinheiros, São Paulo-SP / Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Does not open on the last Sunday of the month / Reservations via website

Frida and Mina

It’s my mandatory stop on the way to the restaurants, whether for coffee or ice cream. The ice cream shop makes its recipes without preservatives, dyes or emulsifiers and the result is one of the best ice creams in town, as they are light and come in addictive flavors.

For the first visit, it is worth starting with caramel with fleur de sel or crunchy macadamia nut, but the more irreverent flavors also deserve space on your cone, as is the case with chocolate beer ice cream and blueberry ice cream with Sicilian lemon jam.

Frida e Mina: Rua Artur de Azevedo, 1147, Pinheiros – São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 12 pm to 10 pm, and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 11 am to 10 pm

Oven

O Oven It’s my favorite place in São Paulo. The space already impresses with the unpretentious little door in the center of the city, which, when opened, just climb a ladder and be welcomed into the modern lounge.

And the menu never disappoints me. led by chef Fih Fernandes the same name behind the Holy Burger the Fôrno has a menu that is constantly changing and that manages to present better dishes with each launch.

Some classics that do not leave the menu are individual pizzas and fries with pastrami, in addition to the famous pastrami coxinha.

Furnace: Rua Cunha Horta, 70, Consolação – São Paulo – SP / Whats: (11) 98195-7207 / Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, from 12 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to midnight; Friday and Saturday, from 12:00 to 24:00; and Sunday, from 12pm to 11pm. It does not open on Mondays.

Lupi Bar

With a delightful garden, capable of making you forget about time, Lupi Bar is one of the most pleasant bars in Pinheiros. There, expect family service and an eclectic menu. In doubt what to order? Bet on the limoncello spritz to start and the portion of four assorted bruschetta.

Lupi Bar: Rua Cônego Eugênio Leite, 1111, Pinheiros – São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: Wednesday to Friday, from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm; Saturday, from 1 pm to 11:30 pm; and Sunday, from 1 pm to 6 pm. Not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Garabed House

On a hillside in the Santana neighborhood is one of the best esfihas I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying.

It is there, at Casa Garabed and its nostalgic, classic and simple atmosphere, that Armenian sfihas, made in a wood-fired oven, come out. Don’t leave before trying the meat with garlic. It is also worth mentioning that the place is already in the third generation of the family and that the entire menu is to be enjoyed.

Casa Garabed: Rua José Margarido, 216, Santana – São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 9pm. Not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
