WhatsApp, now you can silence calls from unknown numbers

While Whatsapp also ends up among the tracks proposed in the first round of thegraduation exam this year, Mark Zuckerberg announces two of the latest additions to the world’s most used chat. These are two functions dedicated to privacy And check. They are already available for everyone, even in Italy. Let’s see what they are.

They can be found in the “Privacy” item of the “Settings” menu, thus accessing the top right from within the application. One is called Privacy control and the other Silence calls. The first one, whose banner appears on first login, is sort of path of awareness in the privacy settings to ensure that “everyone knows the protection options available on WhatsApp”. We move through a series of screens to allow us to decide better and more intuitively who can add us to groups or how to set the geolocation, view blocked contacts and access the second of the news.

It is the baptized one Mute calls from unknown numbers. It seems quite absurd that it hadn’t already been introduced. Basically, by turning a switch on or off, you decide whether to allow unknown numbers – i.e. not in the address book – to make audio or video calls to our account. Meta aims to “ensure even more privacy and control over incoming calls” and to help “automatically filter spam calls, scams and incoming calls from unknown people, ensuring greater protection”. The phone will not actually ring and no notifications will go off: however, we will see in any case the missed calls. They will be listed in your WhatsApp call list, so you can still check who has been calling us. Provided that, as mentioned, the new option is enabled.
