What is missing for “flying cars” to stop being just a project for the future

A mobility bet for the coming years, eVTOLs – electric aircraft that take off and land vertically – are in the sights of large air vehicle manufacturers as an alternative for fast short and medium distance travel.

In Rio de Janeiro, Eve, a subsidiary of Embraer, carried out an exclusive airway simulation for the so-called “flying cars”, connecting Barra da Tijuca to Galeão airport. In place of eVTOLs, still in the development phase, helicopters were used.

In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an overview of the plans for the future of urban air transport, with the arrival of the so-called “flying cars”. To describe what to expect from these new aerial vehicles and what is missing for them to be viable, the traffic development manager at RIOGaleão, Philipe Karat, and the executive André Stein, CEO of Eve, participate in this episode.
