What is known about the case of woman found dead in the car in SP

In another unfolding of the case of the woman found dead inside her own vehicle, the São Paulo Civil Police reported that they prevented two suspects, son and nephew of Amanda de Paiva e Silva.

Both are suspected of involvement in the crime investigated as murder. The arrest took place after an operation conducted by police officers from the 3rd Deic 3 Homicide Police Station, with the support of the Special Operations Group (GOE).

In addition to the arrests, the agents located and seized four cell phones and a digital video recorder of security cameras at the suspects’ residence. The detainees remain available to justice.

What happened

At dawn on March 20, the body of 45-year-old Amanda de Paiva e Silva was found inside the car’s trunk by military police during routine patrolling. The case occurred in Ribeirão Preto, a city in the interior of São Paulo.

The agents suspected where the car was parked on Eduardo Andréia Matarazzo Avenue, in the Presidente Dutra III Garden. As they approached the vehicle, they realized that the trunk was locked and decided to open the compartment.

In the trunk, the agents found the body. In addition, a piece of wood with nails inside the vehicle was located, which was possibly used in the crime.

Who was Amanda

According to witnesses, the woman worked as an application driver and would have last communicated with family members the night before. Amanda had injuries to her head and face at the moment.

The reason for the crime

When Amanda’s body was located, tests were requested from the Institute of Criminalistics (IC). After the first procedures was performed, the Civil Police clarified that investigating the case as a murder, but that investigations do not yet point out a reason for the crime.
