“Water economy” Macron asked the French: his argument with an activist who wouldn’t let him speak

The president was present today at the annual exhibition of agricultural French products in Paris Emmanuel Macron, where he asked the French to “conserve water”. During his visit he got into an argument with an environmental activist.

The activist, wearing a T-shirt that read ‘what are you for?’ and speaking to him in a rather high tone, accused him of ignoring the warnings of scientists regarding climate change. Macron attempted to respond, but the environmental activist would not let him speak. The French president told him that his behavior constituted a form of civil violence and the activist told him that he did not want dialogue. The incident ended with the French president telling him that “since you don’t want dialogue, you better leave.”

Macron stressed that everyone should take actions to save water, avoiding waste and leaks, reports the correspondent of the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency. Regarding the prices of agricultural products, Macron called on distributors and supermarkets to reduce profit margins to help fight inflation. He also said that some aid to the agricultural sector will continue, in order to compensate for the increases in energy prices.
