The drone struck an apartment complex in the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa.
The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian attacks using Iranian-made Shahid drones “they make no sense from a military point of view” and their only goal is to kill and intimidate.
“People know that terror can be dealt with“, he stated in his videotaped speech tonight. “The delay in supplying Ukraine with weapons, missile defense systems to protect our people, unfortunately leads to such losses.”
Zelensky said the youngest victims are Timofii, four months old, and Mark, two years old.
Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko said the infant was found dead next to his mother and posted a photo showing a rescuer next to a bloody blanket, on one side of which a baby's hand is visible and on the other an adult's hand.
Eight people were injured, including a three-year-old girl. Rescuers are continuing to search for people in the wreckage, Zelensky said.
