Ukrainian officials issued a warning of airstrikes Saturday night in areas covering nearly two-thirds of the country.
The alert, which affected most of eastern Ukraine on Saturday afternoon, was then extended from the capital and areas west of Kiev and all areas to the east as well as south to the Kherson region and Russian-annexed Crimea .
Meanwhile, six Ukrainians were killed today by Russian fire while taking part in a demining operation in the southern Kherson region, Ukrainian officials said.
“Six of our mine pickers were killed,” the country’s emergency services announced, adding that “the victims were killed by gunfire while carrying out mine clearance operations in the Kherson region
