To be able to return to the country, Daniel had to travel from Israel to Thailand. The flight departed on Sunday night (8) and arrived this Monday (9). He then had to board a flight to Doha, Qatar, where he will board a flight to São Paulo.

Daniel was in Israel to qualify for the Paris Paralympics in 2024. In an interview with CNN , he said he arrived in the country late in the morning. “Drinking coffee [no hotel], we heard an explosion. It just didn’t cross our minds that it would be an explosion, a bombing, something like that,” he said.
“In the afternoon, training was already scheduled and, when we were resting, a message arrived from the tournament organizer warning that he was canceling the event due to an attack by the Hamas group,” he explained.
“It was a very tense moment as it was an attack, especially close to where we were, but the organizer made himself available to resolve this situation and return home safely.”
The group of athletes managed to buy a ticket on Sunday morning to travel to Thailand on the evening of the same day.
