THE Wall Street Journal in collaboration with researchers from Stanford University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst conducted a major new study on the Instagram and found that it “helps” them pedophiles.
Specifically, the wsj.com states that search is allowed with terms that directly refer to such content, while there are pages that contain menus with illegal videos and photos.
Yes, there are profiles issued by children and teenagers. Typically, those who are active in the above illegal acts, can search with the terms #pedowhore and #preteensex.
Also, the research showed that the algorithm allows such material to be promotedespecially since it is a personalized search.
Meta, therefore, claimed that it is doing everything it can to limit this activity, while stating that in the last two years it has removed 27 pedophile networks and plans to remove more.
The company said it seeks to block the above users and gave as an example the fact that in January it removed 490,000 accounts related to pedophilia.
