Thousands of property owners are waiting for the state compensation for the reduced-zero rents. However, these are complex cases that are examined not by computer processing but individually by a team set up in the Independent Public Revenue Authority. According to the tax administration, in the coming days a relevant schedule will be issued for the completion of the settlement process and the payment of the relevant amounts to the beneficiaries.
According to information, these are cases:
– Multiple Statements of Real Estate Lease Information or multiple Covid statements (for the same period and / or by multiple tenants), in which the properties are not identified.
– Leased real estate, which does not correspond to declared real rights, as a result of which it is necessary to check the respective legal documents that prove the legal relationship of the lessor with the real estate.
Lease adjustments that are not recorded by modifying the lease, but by indicating in the “Notes” of the original lease.
– Chains of successive subleases and / or multiple properties.
To date, the Ministry of Finance has paid:
– For the period March – October 2020, amount of 63.5 million euros, to 269,284 VAT, through offset with tax liabilities (income tax, ENFIA and VAT).
– For the period November 2020 – July 2021, 756.5 million euros, to 359,590 beneficiaries, with direct payment to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
In total, 820 million euros have been paid through set-offs and payments to bank accounts.
The above data correspond to 95% of the total of about 470,000 leases, on the basis of which a total of 2,626,000 declarations of compensation of owners were submitted during the period November 2020 – July 2021
POMIDA, meanwhile, is asking the Ministry of Finance to complete the clearance of COVID declarations and to pay all other amounts of compensation, including those related to real estate sublease, as well as to open the platform for submitting corrections and COVID declarations in the October-October period.
What property owners are asking for
1. Complete the clearance of COVID declarations and pay all other amounts of compensation, including those related to real estate subletting.
2. To open the application for submission of COVID correction declarations for the months of June & July 2021 because for this period only the initial declarations were given the opportunity.
3. To open the application for submission of corrections and declarations of COVID for the period March-October 2020, which is not only our permanent request but also a moral obligation of the State towards the citizens who were blatantly wronged by the inevitable initial operation of the declaration system at that time. and the false statements of their tenants.
4. To appear in the “Personalized Information” of the taxpayers any information that concerns them in relation to these outstanding issues and possible set-offs with their new tax obligations.
