According to a survey conducted by the state-run All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), the majority of Russians, 59%, show no interest in the digital ruble.

68% of respondents know about the mass introduction of the digital ruble from 2025. 31% of respondents said that they are ready to use the digital ruble to pay for goods and services. 10% do not know whether they will use this new payment instrument in the future.

Russians surveyed by VTsIOM believe that the main disadvantages of the digital ruble are the possibility of hacking and fraud, as well as control by the state.

Only 17% of Russians were able to answer in detail about the advantages of the asset, another 52% found it difficult to answer, and 31% said that the digital ruble has no advantages. Young people and active Internet users are showing great interest in the payment instrument, say researchers from VTsIOM.

The Bank of Russia stated that testing of the third form of national currency is going according to plan, and at least twenty banks are preparing their systems to connect to the digital ruble platform. The Central Bank called the advantages of the asset free transfers for individuals, low tariffs for businesses, simplicity and speed in making budget payments.

Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, Anatoly Aksakov, stated that after some time in Russia it will be possible to exchange bitcoins for digital rubles.
