In his nightly sermon, its president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskyannounced the liberation of 41 communities and the recovery of territories of his country that previously occupied by Russian forces.
“We have good news from the south. The Ukrainian flag is once again raised where it belongs. As part of our operations, we liberate dozens of communities. In the last 24 hours, 41 communities were liberated,” the Ukrainian leader initially emphasized and continued:
“And while we are happy about this development, we should not forget, neither now nor ever, what these movements mean. Every step our forces take means warrior lives lost. Lives given for the freedom of Ukrainians. What we are achieving now is the result of fierce battles. It took courage, pain… Moreover, it is not the enemy who is fleeing, but the Ukrainians who are driving out the invaders and at great cost».
“However, it is our duty to go all the way, on the battlefield and in diplomacy, so that we see the Ukrainian flag flying on our land and not the flag of the enemyas is happening now in the east in the Kharkiv region, as it happened previously in the north in the region of Kiev, Sumy and Chernihiv, as can be seen from what is happening in Mykolife and Kherson,” he added.
Zelensky announced that his country has received a new package of military aid from the US that will help it deal more effectively with the aerial threat of Russian, while the Netherlands also transferred 100 million euros in order to acquire military equipment. At the same time, he claimed that he discussed with the Prime Ministers of Great Britain and Canada, Rishi Sunak and Justin Trudeau, respectively, for further defense assistance to Ukraine.
He emphasized, however, that Ukraine needs help in trying to return to normal life in the former occupied territories. “They have drugged everything. Vast areas of landmines remain. Normally it would take decades to clean them up and that’s why we thank those who are helping us to speed up the processes,” he stressed.
