Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of the Ethereum project, spoke about how to achieve complete decentralization of the network, reports Cointelegraph. He believes that the key to this lies in the reduction in cost and simplification of nodes.
This is possible thanks to the concept of statelessness. It implies a move away from using centralized web providers to check the health of the network, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Almost 60% of the nodes are under his control. According to some experts, this makes the network vulnerable to a centralized point of failure, which will affect the operation of the entire blockchain.

Statelessness is the centerpiece of updates in The Verge and The Purge stages. However, as Buterin himself admitted, he believes that the problem will not be solved in the near future. In his opinion, it will take about 10-20 years.
In addition to statelessness, there are several other important milestones in the project’s roadmap. This is the simplification of technical documentation, the distribution of staking and scaling.
