According to Buterin, at the application level, key decisions are made that determine what benefits the programs will bring to the community. Developers should understand and accept the values ​​of decentralization, as well as the overall contribution of the Ethereum to the crypto industry.

“The programs by 80% depend on the goals that they pursue. What applications are created is directly related to the ideas of their creators about what they should serve, ”said Butaterin.

As examples of applications with social utility, Butaterin was brought by Farcaster, Polymarket and Signal messenger. In his opinion, such programs do the right things.

Pump.fun, FTX and Terra ecosystem platforms, on the contrary, demonstrated poor social philosophy. The co -founder of the Ethereum explained that the differences between the applications reflect the difference in the beliefs of their creators and how they see their role in the ecosystem.
