A Boeing cargo plane operated by FedEx Airlines was doused with foam after landing nose-first at Istanbul airport, forcing its pilots to exit through the cockpit window.
The scene was recorded in videos shared by the Turkish Ministry of Transport, this Wednesday (8).

The aircraft landed at Istanbul airport, this Wednesday (8), without activating the front landing gear, but managed to remain on the runway and had no casualties, the Ministry said.
The aircraft, which took off from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, reported to the Istanbul airport control tower that its landing gear had not opened and landed with guidance from the tower, authorities said in a statement.

The airport's rescue and firefighting teams were mobilized before landing, but no one was injured. The ministry did not give a reason for the failure.
The aircraft involved is an almost 10-year-old Boeing 767 freighter, one of the most common cargo planes and based on the 767 passenger model that dates back to the 1980s.
FedEx said in a statement that it is coordinating with investigating authorities and will “provide additional information as it becomes available.”
Video footage obtained by Reuters showed sparks flying and some smoke as the front of the plane dragged across the runway before coming to a stop and being doused with firefighting foam.
The runway was temporarily closed to air traffic, but other runways at the airport continued to operate normally, airport operator IGA said.
Manufacturers are not typically involved in the operation or maintenance of jets when they enter service, but Boeing has been under intense scrutiny from the media and regulators following a series of incidents on its smaller 737.
The U.S. planemaker could not immediately be reached for comment.
