An alarm was sounded in Israel after the armed attack that left three dead and wounded at a checkpoint in South Jerusalem. The security authorities claimed that “the gunman who opened fire is member of Hamas and that the organization was preparing something bigger in this area”, as its emissary relays ERT. They even released shocking video of the attack.
An AFP reporter at the scene said he heard automatic weapons fire from the area where the checkpoint is located.
