Video of PMs Burning Cruz in training inside SP generates criticism

A video released on social networks of the 9th Special Police Action Battalion (Baep) of São José do Rio Preto (SP) last Tuesday (15), shows agents of the corporation burning a cross in an open place.

In the images, you can see Baep agents in the middle of the smoke, with your arm erected at shoulder height. Internet users questioned the gesture, which can refer to a Nazi greeting. Look:

After the repercussion, the video was erased from the Battalion social networks. However, the images were shared by countless people on social networks.

In a note sent to the report, the Military Police stated that “the material was produced during the end of a night training, conducted by the Battalion teams themselves, in order to symbolically represent the overcoming of the physical and psychological limits faced throughout the instruction.”

The corporation also said that “at no time was there an intention to associate with religious, racial or political ideologies.”

Even so, the circumstances of the production of the images are cleared by the PM. “The Military Police vehemently repudiate any allusion to Nazi symbols, as well as any manifestation of intolerance, prejudice or discrimination,” the statement says.

Sought by CNN the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that it repudiates any manifestation of intolerance and that as soon as it became aware of the video established a procedure to investigate the circumstances regarding the case.
