A man died after being shot by a military policeman during an approach On Henrique Duque Estrada Meyer Avenue, near the Ponto Chic neighborhood, in Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense.
The case happened on Wednesday (23) and is being investigated by the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF).
According to information from the Military Police, agents of the 20th BPM (Mosque) spotted two men on a motorcycle and tried to approach them. The suspects would have fled initially, but were located again soon after.
Street security cameras recorded the moment of the approach. In the images, you can see the two men stopped around the corner, in front of an establishment, when they are surrounded by two police officers. When ordered to get off the motorcycle, one of the individuals raises his shirt and tries to run, when a policeman shoot. The man is hit and falls to the floor. See below:
In a statement, the PM stated that the military realized that the suspect tried to draw a gun, which would have motivated the police reaction. The help was triggered, but the man could not resist the injuries. The other man was arrested. A pistol and ammunition would also have been seized, according to the corporation.
According to the Civil Police, the man has not yet been identified. The expertise was done on site and steps are underway to investigate the motivation and authorship of the crime.
