Video: macaw gets stuck in line and firefighters carry out rescue in GO

A macaw became entangled in a line hanging from a tree 16 meters high. The case occurred in the Jardim Novo Mundo neighborhood, in Goiânia.

The Goiás Military Fire Department (CBMGO) was called to carry out the rescue. Using a truck equipped with a ladder, the military managed to reach the animal for the operation.

When rescuing the macaw, firefighters identified injuries to its wing. After releasing the bird from the line, it was taken to the Wild Animal Triage Center (Cetas) to receive specialized care and assistance.

The red-bellied macaw, also known as the yellow-bellied macaw, is one of the best-known macaw species in Brazil. The animal stands out for its colorful plumage in shades of blue, yellow and green.

It is generally found in the Cerrado and Amazon regions. Considered a large bird, it has a wingspan of up to 1 meter and a long lifespan, reaching up to 50 years in its natural habitat.

This species of macaw is important for the ecosystem, as it helps to disperse seeds and maintain plant diversity. However, it faces threats such as habitat loss and animal trafficking.
