During the journey, the vehicle appears to be exceeding the speed limit established for the roads it was on. At one point, the minor who was riding the bike even did a wheelie. Shortly after, he took one of his hands off the handlebars.
The Public Security Department reported that the two teenagers were injured and taken to the Santa Marcelina hospital in Itaquera. After being discharged from the hospital, the minor who was driving the motorcycle will be sent to the Children and Youth Court.
The experts were called and the case was registered as negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm while driving a motor vehicle at the 24th DP (Ponte Rasa).
On social media, the teenagers’ family members said they were “very sorry for what happened and for the inestimable loss of a life” and that “it was an accident, obviously there was no intention on either side to cause this”.
According to the publication, one of the young men who was on the motorcycle is in serious condition in the ICU with blood clots in the head and fractures in the femur and cervical spine. When contacted, the hospital confirmed that the two are hospitalized, but said that “their health status is communicated exclusively to family members”.
