The plot follows Verity Crawford, a bestseller author responsible for a successful series. She is at the height of her career when she suffers an accident that leaves her unable to complete the story. With this, Lowen Ashleigh, a writer on the verge of bankruptcy, is invited to write, under one pseudonym, the remaining three books of the already consolidated Verity series.
In order to better understand the creative process, Lowen decides to spend a few days at the Crawford House, where he finds a kind of autobiography in which the writer tells the facts from the day she meets Jeremy, her husband, to the moment before her accident.
The book “Verity” It was released in 2018 and was on the bestsellers list of The New York Times. More than one million copies were sold in a year. In Brazil, published by Galera Record, it was the eighth best selling book in 2024.
The suspense will be Colleen Hoover’s second book adapted to the big screen, but two others are already confirmed, “if it wasn’t for you” and “a second chance.” Last year, the movie of “That’s how it ends” premiered in theaters.
