The businesswoman Vera Viel 49, walked on crutches and celebrated the evolution of her health after being diagnosed with a rare and malignant tumor, called synovial sarcoma on the leg.
In an Instagram video, she appeared walking with crutches after the operation to remove the lump in her left thigh. “God works miracles, and I am one of them”, wrote Vera in a story this Sunday (13).
According to her husband, Rodrigo Faro 50, the surgery lasted eight hours. Despite the delay, the procedure took place without complications, according to the Albert Einstein Hospital, where the businesswoman is hospitalized in the capital of São Paulo.
Vera even celebrated her birthday at the hospital on Saturday (12). “Firstly, I want to thank you for all the prayers and messages of affection! Today I turn 49 with the best gift I could receive: the presence of the Holy Spirit!”, she wrote in an Instagram post.
What is synovial sarcoma?
According to the National Cancer Institute of the United States (USA), synovial sarcoma is a type of cancer that affects soft tissues, such as muscles or ligaments.
It is often found on the arms, legs or foot, near joints such as the wrist or ankle. It can also form in soft tissue in the lung or abdomen.
