Vehicle manufacturers installed in Brazil produced 203,600 cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in June, down 1.1% over May, but up 21.5% compared to June last year, when the sector was hit hard for lack of components.
In the first half of the year, the volume of vehicles assembled by the industry in the country, 1.09 million units, was 5% lower than that recorded in the first half of 2021, according to data released this Friday (8) by the association of automakers, Anfavea.
Licensing also dropped in June in the monthly comparison and fell compared to the same month last year.
The write-offs were 4.8% and 2.4%, respectively, to 178,100 units. In the first half, sales fell 14.5% to 918,000 vehicles.
Anfavea earlier this year released projections that sales would grow 8.5%, to 2.3 million units in 2022, while production would advance 9.4%, to 2.46 million vehicles.
In June, exports of vehicles assembled in Brazil soared 41.2% over the same period last year, to 47,300 units. The accumulated in the first half of 2022 was 246.3 thousand vehicles, a growth of 23% compared to the first half of 2021.
