Vasco Rossi: after 40 years, the video of Ogni volta arrives

Forty years after the release of Wheneverone of his greatest hits, Vasco Rossi decides to give birth to a video that tells its essence by transposing it into images. Along with the release of a special remastered reissue of I go to the maxthe revolutionary record of 1982, Vasco, in fact, after Jenny is crazy, Fragile soul and Just us, develops a new animated video of the series. «Among the songs that entered the history of Italian music, and among Vasco’s most loved, Whenever is the one that has the least number of words, maximum synthesis of Vasco’s poetic synthesis, which led to working in subtraction on the screenplay and graphics» he explains Arturo Bertusi, who took care of the direction and artistic direction of the video.

«Wheneveran autobiographical, intimate and introspective song, an impressionistic fresco of emotions and moods, has a structure similar to a nursery rhyme, with few variations (a key change, a violin and a guitar solo) and is all in first person. For this reason, it was natural to create a completely subjective video, with a single protagonist and a single gaze, that of Vasco». The subject and the screenplay were, however, created with the writer Veronica Raimo, winner of the 2022 Young Witch Prize for the novel Nothing true, published by Einaudi: «I contacted her to propose this project and after a few hours we started working on it. Veronica was in the Strega promotional tour, we were on tour with Vasco Rossi; a few phone calls and a few emails during the summer were enough to write the definitive screenplay together, without ever having met», says Bertusi.
