The mining company Vale recorded a net profit of US$ 16.73 billion in 2022, a drop of 32.4% compared to 2021. In the fourth quarter of last year, the net profit recorded was US$ 3.72 billion, a decrease of 30 .4% versus the same period of the previous year, informed the company this Thursday (16).
Net income for the last three months of the year was above Refinitiv’s estimate, which forecast a result of US$ 2.5 billion in the period.
In comparison with the third quarter, there was a decrease of 16.4%.
Earnings before interest, taxes, amortization and depreciation (adjusted pro forma EBITDA) from continuing operations totaled US$ 5 billion between October and December, compared to US$ 6.86 billion a year earlier.
The company’s net income in the fourth quarter was US$ 11.94 billion, versus US$ 13.10 billion in the same period of the previous year.
