Vale said this Thursday (9) that its board of directors approved a list of recommended new nominations for the collegiate, with shareholders due to deliberate on the nominees at a meeting scheduled for April 28.
Practically half of the board, currently with 13 members, should change, according to the statement sent to the market, with the departure of names such as Mauro Cunha and former Petrobras CEO Roberto Castello Branco.
Among the new appointments are the former governor of Espírito Santo Paulo Hartung and the new head of Previ, João Luiz Fukunaga.
Vale’s current president and vice president — José Duarte Penido and Fernando Buso Gomes — have also been nominated for a new term on the board, the company added.
Other nominees include current directors Manuel Oliveira, Marcelo Gasparino, Daniel Stieler and Rachel Maia, as well as new members Douglas Upton, Luis Henrique Guimarães, Shunji Komai and Vera Inkster, Vale said.
