Three Dutchmen, members of their country’s special forces, were injured by gunfire outside the hotel where they were staying in Indianapolis, USA, on Friday night, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced today.
One of the soldiers is hospitalized in critical condition. The three men were participating in a training exercise in Indiana State and local police are investigating the incident. So far no arrests have been made.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has not yet commented. A police officer told FOX 59 TV that there appeared to be a confrontation earlier at a different location. “At this time the information we can disclose is that it did not occur inside the hotel. It was a previous confrontation, we believe, at another location. It did not occur inside the Hampton Inn,” the downtown hotel, but “outside this,” he added.
