USA: Three Dutch commandos were wounded by gunfire in Indianapolis

Three Dutchmen, members of their country’s special forces, were injured by gunfire outside the hotel where they were staying in Indianapolis, USA, on Friday night, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced today.

One of the Dutch soldiers is hospitalized in critical condition. The three men were participating in a training exercise in Indiana State and local police are investigating the incident. So far no arrests have been made.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has not yet commented. A police officer told FOX 59 TV that there appeared to be a confrontation earlier at a different location.

“Right now the information we can reveal is that it did not happen inside the hotel. It was a previous confrontation, we believe, at another location. It didn’t happen inside the Hampton Inn,” the downtown hotel, but “outside of it,” he added.

However, according to local press it is the second time in a week that three people have been injured in a shooting incident.
