CIA Director William Burns tested positive for Covid-19 today after seeing the US president the day before, the US intelligence service said in a press release.
Burns attended a meeting Wednesday morning in the presence of Joe Biden, following the rules of social distancing and wearing an FFP2 mask, the press release states.
“Their meeting is not considered close contact,” the statement said.
The 65-year-old CIA chief said he was “fully vaccinated, has taken his booster dose against Covid-19 and has had mild symptoms,” the agency said in a statement.
For his part, 79-year-old Joe Biden, for his part, made his second booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19 yesterday.
